Aaron Witek – Music Performance

Dr. Aaron Witek is the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Endowed Chair in Music and Instructor of Trumpet at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Dr. Witek has given recitals and master classes at many state, regional, national, and international conferences; including the International Women’s Brass Conference, NACUSA Mid-South Regional Conference, Louisiana Music Educators’ Association Conference, and the Florida Music Educators’ Association Convention. He has been an adjudicator at the National Trumpet Competition, International Trumpet Guild Youth Competition, Louisiana All-State auditions, as well as marching band competitions and festivals across the country. In addition, Dr. Witek is in demand as a clinician and has worked with ensembles in Arizona, Florida, New York, and Louisiana. He has been involved with the marching arts activity since 2001 as an instructor and designer and is the former Assistant Brass Caption Head for the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps.  He currently serves as a brass specialist at The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps.

Chris Frick – Visual Performance

Mr. Frick is currently the chief judge for the Carolina Winter Ensemble Association. He writes drill for several marching bands, stages many winter percussion and guard programs and teaches 4 summer/fall bands. He served on the guard staff of the Bluecoats for two years and in 2004 was the co-visual caption head for Capital Regiment.

 

GE Music – Jason Rinehardt

Dr. Jason Rinehart was appointed to the faculty of the University of South Alabama in 2016 as Associate Director of Bands and Associate Director of Athletic Bands. From 2007-2016, Rinehart served as Assistant Director of Bands, Director of Athletic Bands, and Director of Orchestras at the University of Louisiana, Monore. At ULM he directed the Sound of Today marching band, the Technical Fowls basketball pep band, the Symphonic Band and guest conducted the Wind Ensemble. Prior to his appointment at ULM, Rinehart taught at the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Conservatory of Music, Benedictine College, and St. Louis Community College.

Jason received his Doctorate in Conducting from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He also holds degrees from Texas Tech University (Bachelor of Music Education) and Southern Methodist University (Master in Conducting). In addition, Dr. Rinehart studied conducting with David Effron and Gunther Schuller at the Brevard Music Center. In 2013, Dr. Rinehart was a Finalist for the American Prize in Conducting.

Dr. Rinehart has been involved with the drum and bugle corps activity for over 20 years beginning as a marching member with the Sky Ryders and Phantom Regiment and was previously taught with Pioneer, Capital Regiment, and the Boston Crusaders, and was the Brass Caption Head for the Glassmen, and Spirit of Atlanta.  He now serves as an adjudicator for Drum Corps International and the Central States Judges Association.

 

Erik Richards –  General Effect Visual

Dr. Erik Richards is current Director of Bands at Delta State University in Cleveland, MS.  He holds a doctorate in music education with a concentration in instrumental conducting and a graduate certificate in college teaching from Florida State University, a Master of Music Education from Virginia Commonwealth University and a B.S. degree in music education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He spent 10 years of his professional career teaching instrumental music at all levels, marching band and AP music theory in Virginia public schools. He has also been active as a guest clinician and conductor.

 

Patrick O’Donovan – Percussion

Patrick O’Donovan is a nationally recognized percussion and band judge.  Patrick has over 20 years of experience as a clinician, adjudicator and instructor of marching bands and drum lines.  He is a percussion judge for Winterguard International and is active in judging indoor percussion ensembles in the southeast.  Professional affiliations include:  Phi Beta Mu, MENC, National Education Association and MS Band Directors Association.  Currently, Patrick is a band director in the Hinds County School District and lives in Terry, Mississippi.

 

Beverly Brahan – Color Guard

 Beverly Brahan judges marching bands and indoor colorguard nationwide.  She adjudicates general effect, visual captions and colorguard at various band contests throughout the state and nation.  Beverly serves as the Movement Caption Manager for Winterguard International, is a movement judge for WGI, is the Colorguard Judge Coordinator for Mississippi Indoor Association and is a Hall of Fame Member of the Gulf Coast Colorguard and Percussion Association.  Beverly Brahan is a graduate of the University of Alabama and currently serves as Associate Executive Director of the Mississippi Association of Educators.  Beverly resides in Terry, Mississippi.
